The massing of the building is broken into three distinct volumes stand independently of each other, which are connected by an enclosed glazed entry space. The layout & design makes the most of the natural light that is brought deep into the house. The use of oversized glazing integrates the connection and enjoyment with of the garden & house.
The mixture of traditional building forms and materials with modern detailing creates a contemporary appearance for the dwelling yet respects the scale and style of the traditional rural landscape.
A Timber Framed structure sat on a passive foundation, heat pump, mechanical ventilation, heat recovery system & a high level of air tightness combine to provide an ultra low heating demand for this house. This house is designed to a NZEB A2 energy rated standard.
