Positioned on a Greenfield site overlooking rolling hills & a traditional rural landscape of Blackwater & Curracloe, this contemporary home boasts a floor area of over 4000 sq ft. Our primary aim was to provide our clients with an innovative design & of its time. Based upon a mono pitch concept, we elevated the southern section to maximise the expansive views & natural light & each window acts as its own unique picture window. Floor to ceiling windows elevates the connection and enjoyment with the garden. Proportion & scale were fundamental which was a very significant part of the design.
A Timber Framed, heat pump, mechanical ventilation & heat recovery system and high level of air tightness combine to provide an ultra low heating demand for this house. This house is designed to a NZEB A2 energy rated standard.
The mixture of traditional building forms such as high-end zinc roof coverings, choice of plaster, cedar cladding & Alucobond wall finish, aluminium downpipes creates a contemporary appearance for the dwelling.
